Bijapur Airport Project
MARG has been awarded the contract for the development and operation of a Greenfield airport at Bijapur in November 2008 by the Government of Karnataka, on BOT basis under the public-private partnership (PPP) model for 30 year concession period. MARG has to design, develop, operate and manage the airport during the concession period.
The total project cost during Phase I estimated around Rs.1500 million. Some salient features of the project are as follows.
- 727 acres of land for the development of airside and other city side commercial amenities
- Terminal building of 2,500 sq.mt, capable of handling 100 passengers at peak hour
- Runway of dimension 1700 Mx30 M which would support ATR 72 range of flights
Hangars, aprons, taxiways, isolated parking bay, ground support equipment, air traffic control tower of height 15 M, fuel form and fire station
