Bijapur Airport Project Government of Karnataka has issued Letter of Award to MARG Limited for the development of Bijapur airport project on November 2008. For the development of airside and other city side commercial amenities, we have been provided with 727.04 acres of land on BOT basis for a total period of 90 years which is extendable at the end of every 30th year on mutual concern. The total project cost during Phase I of development is estimated around Rs.150 Crores and out of which Rs.50 Crores is set aside for the commercial developments. The Airside development encompasses a Terminal building of 2500Sq.M capable of handling 100 passengers at peak hour, runway of dimension 1700Mx30M which would support ATR 72 range of flights, hangers, aprons, taxiways, isolated parking bay, Ground Support Equipment, air traffic control tower of height 15M, fuel form and fire station. The city side development consists of Aviation Engineering College, Pilot Training Institute which includes Helicopter training facilities, Gliding Club, Hotel with at least 50 rooms and cold storage facility at first phase. On 17th August 2009, the Special Purpose Company, MARG Aviations Private Limited was incorporated for the development of project. |
