Logistics Services

After successfully completing the first phase of the Karaikal Port, MARG is expanding its business activities to explore opportunities in the allied business areas particularly logistics services. For this purpose, MARG Logistics Private Limited (MLPL) a wholly owned subsidiary was established to pursue opportunities in logistics and provide logistics services in the following areas for the port users.

  • Facilitate movement of cargo by road
  • Facilitate movement of cargo by rail
  • Provide warehouses and storage at the port site and in the hinterland.

As the port cargo volumes are set to grow in the future, the business outlook for MLPL looks very bright. MLPL has started acquiring assets and currently owns a small fleet of trucks and other necessary equipments. MLPL strives to create a transport eco system by encouraging many transport operators to establish themselves in the port to facilitate the smooth cargo flow from and into the port. This helps to augment the transportation capacity available to the customers. With the port operations slated to grow in the coming years, logistics business will expand to cater to the requirements. The outlook for MLPL is to be an integrated solution provider who caters to end-to-end logistics requirements of customers.
