Corporate Social Responsibility as a Business Model in MARG:

Corporate Social Responsibility is a concept which encourages organisations to consider the interests of society by taking responsibility for the impact of the organisation’s activities on customers, employees, shareholders, communities, and the environment in all aspects of its operations. As the world becomes a smaller place and as corporate extend business in different corners of the world, they can ill afford to ignore the social environment in which they operate.

| Parivarthan – A Chain of Change |

Parivarthan – meaning ‘Chain of Change’ is the CSR brand of MARG. Parivarthan is not about Corporate Social Responsibility, but about transforming the society and the neighbourhood in our areas of impact. To bring in this transformation through the ‘Chain of Change’, we commence by studying the socio-economic conditions of the community, which would throw light on the various parameters of our study.

| Grassroots Level Skill Development Initiative: |
|
Grassroots Level Skill Development Initiative (GLSDI) is an initiative of MARG and CII targeted at the Kancheepuram district’s unskilled workforce. The programme focuses on imparting basic training to unskilled labor (primarily agricultural workforce) so they may take up jobs in the district’s and the MARG SEZ’s industrial and service sector units.

| Strengthening infrastructure of School and Anganwadi in Seekinankuppam and Kodur: |
| Children are the future means of development in the society. Education plays a crucial role in developing children who in turn bring about a developed society. MARG believes that strengthening the school infrastructure to provide better facilities to the children attracts them to attend school and would in a way prevent school drop out in the villages. Therefore MARG would like to strengthen infrastructure of schools and anganwadi centers.

| Celebrating 100 years of Satyagraha: |

| MARG, in co-ordination with the Gandhi Study Centre, conducted a one-day programme for underprivileged children to celebrate Gandhi Jayanthi and 100 years of Sathyagraha. With over 600 guests, the event was a roaring success, dotted by the laughter and cheer of children.
